Window on Admissions and Visit with Washington University in St. Louis

  • 1912 Center Reception Gallery 412 E 3rd St Moscow United States 83843 (map)

When you press “send” on your college application, what happens next?

Many colleges decide which students to admit by meeting as a committe to discuss each applicant. How does that work? How do they decide? Get some insight into college admissions in this mock admissions exercise, where you get to put yourself in the shoes of an admissions officer and consider student applications and make decisions. This will help students getting ready to apply to college, but it can even provide insight to younger students, who might wonder how their high school activities and experiences prepare them for college.

The Workshop will be led by Philip Layson, Admissions Officer at Washington University in St. Louis specializing in rural students. Phiip is coming from Missouri all the way to Moscow meet area students! He will also tell you about Washington University in St. Louis, one of the top universities in the country. WUSTL has top programs in premed, business and the arts, awards very generous financial aid and has visit programs designed for rural students. You definitely need to know more about WUSTL!

This is a great opportunity to learn about the admissions process (wherever you plan to apply). You can also learn more about Washington University in St. Louis whether you plan to apply this year or are a younger high schooler just starting to build your college list.

We will serve sub sandwiches and drinks and we will have admissions packets for all students to use during the exercise. We’ll also provide gas cards for students coming from out of town. Please RSVP so we can plan!
