Still On -- An Evening with College Financial Lady Ann Garcia

  • 1912 Center 412 E 3rd St Moscow United States (map)

TONIGHT’S EVENT IS STILL ON! THERE IS HEAT ON THE SECOND FLOOR OF THE 1912 BUILDING!

Palouse Pathways proudly presents “An Evening with College Financial Lady Ann Garcia,” an opportunity for young adults and parents to get expert college financial insights on November 9, from 7 – 8 p.m. at the 1912 Center in Moscow, ID.

Drawing from her personal experience as a parent of university graduates, a certified financial planner and author, Ann Garcia brings a vast depth of knowledge to students and parents seeking financial answers. In her professional work, she notices two common groups: parents struggling to fit college into family finances and young adults managing student debt.

“I thought that if I could help that first group-- the parents who were trying to figure this out-- I might see a lot less of that second group. And I'm a parent who needed to know this for my own kids,” Garcia said, whose own children graduated debt-free using techniques found in her book, “How to Pay for College.”

In her talk, she will discuss:

-          How to save for college

-          How to find scholarships for college

-          How the FAFSA and financial aid work

-          How to pay for college

-          Taking out student loans without jeopardizing your future

In her book, Garcia emphasizes the importance of identifying socially and academically suitable colleges to leverage financial aid opportunities. “Most colleges are actively trying to recruit and enroll students, and discounting tuition is the best tool they have to do so. By identifying colleges that want to enroll students like you, you can identify colleges that will give you scholarships,” Garcia said.

Palouse Pathways Founder and Director, Peggy Jenkins, expressed excitement about the event, saying, “Ann can tell you about great college options that can be surprisingly affordable for your family. Palouse Pathways’ goal is to help every student find a college or career path that makes sense, and Ann will certainly help us achieve that.”

You don’t want to miss this event and all that Palouse Pathways has to offer. Rooted in Moscow, Idaho, Palouse Pathways is a non-profit organization that strives to empower families and students with resources and support as they embark on future college or career paths.

Copies of Ann Garcia’s book will also be available for purchase at the event!
